Helpful Tips for your Competitor Application

Getting ready to submit your application for the 2024 World Ballet Competition Finals? We’ve gathered our best tips to help you submit your application.
#1 Competitor’s Age
The competitor’s age is determined as of March 1, 2024.
#2 Film In-Studio or Submit a Video from a Performance
Dancers applying as soloists are required to submit a video of one classical variation.
Dancers can film their variation during an in-studio rehearsal where they may wear a costume or class attire (with no additional accessories).
Dancers can also submit a video from a recent performance or another recent dance competition. Viewing material must be filmed within approximately 8 months prior to the competition date.
#3 Begin Your Application Early
Applications are accepted now through January 10, 2024. We recommend to start an application early to ensure you have all of the materials ready for submission by the deadline (these include the dancer’s brief dance history details, headshot picture, and video).

#5 Accepted Dancers are Required to Perform Additional Solos in Orlando
Dancers accepted to compete in the 2024 Finals are required to perform additional solos onstage in Orlando:
Introductory Competitors (age 9-11) have one round of competition only and are required to perform 2 classical variations.
Preparatory Competitors (age 12-13) have two rounds of competition and are required to perform 2 classical variations and 1 contemporary solo.
Pre-Professional Competitors (age 14-15) have three rounds of competition and are required to perform a minimum of 2 different classical variations and 1 contemporary solo.
Professional Competitors (age 16-24) have three rounds of competition and are required to perform a minimum of 2 different classical variations and 1 contemporary solo.
