The city has been very welcoming to our participants and gave us great compliments on our previous events. We are excited to bring back more talented competitors to the city!"

Last year’s WBC OPEN included dancers of Serbia, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Greece, South Korea, and the United States of America. The top prize, the “WBC Excellence Award” and $3,000 US Dollars was divided amongst six dancers: Amyra Cristina Badro (Romania), Leanne Fromm (USA), Cosmin Marinescu (Romania), Risa Mochizuki (Japan), Irina Georgiana Tarau (Romania), and Takahiro Tsubo (Japan). Those six dancers also won invitations to advance the World Ballet Competition’s world finals in Orlando, Florida, USA. An established jury of eight members included Luba Gulyaeva, a colleague of Mikhail Baryshnikov; Elisabetta Hertel of Accademia Internazionale Coreutica in Italy, and Cosmin Marculetiu of Festival Ballet Theatre in the USA.

About the World Ballet Competition: The World Ballet Competition has become known as one of the most popular international dance competitions with an emphasis on fairness and technology via its Olympics like computerized scoring system.
