ABOUT THE WORLD BALLET COMPETITION: Each year the WBC draws the highest level of talent that exists to Orlando for a week-long dance festival. During that time, the WBC provides elite young talent the opportunity to receive 1) job contracts, 2) scholarships to leading dance schools and/or universities worldwide, 3) dance education through master classes taught by renowned dance masters, 4) worldwide networking 5) exposure through the internet broadcast, and 6) to be inspired by great talent. Last year the WBC provided an unprecedented economical impact of over $1.4 million (for this type of event) to the Central Florida community.

In its seventh year, the World Ballet Competition is one of the world’s most popular ballet competitions and places a strong emphasis on the professional dancer. The vision and mission of WBC is to be the most objective and fair competition in the world and to attract the highest level of talent that exists. This has been well documented in Dancer Magazine, Pointe Magazine, and Dance for You Magazine (based in Europe). In 2008, the WBC became the first ballet competition to be entirely broadcast on the internet and the first to use a computerized scoring system similar to the Olympics.
